Hi, I’m Kara.

A seeker of grace, a storyteller by trade, and a “messy Christian” finding beauty in the Vermont woods.

For a long time, I lived “lite.” I was a “Christian Lite,” dipping my toes into faith without ever really getting wet. I was a “Homemaker Lite,” juggling the chaos but missing the heart of it.

Then, two years ago, I decided to take the plunge…literally. I got re-baptized and traded my “lukewarm” walk for a life of total surrender. Since then, God has been teaching me that I don’t need to be perfect to be loved; I just need to be obedient. The rest? He lets that fall into place.

From the Boardroom to the Chicken Coop

By day, I’m an Engagement Manager for a local nonprofit. I’m a storyteller at heart, whether I’m sharing the impact of affordable housing or figuring out the most efficient way to “reverse meal plan” for a family of three.

My professional life and my home life aren’t two separate worlds; they are fueled by the same love for organization, detail, and the belief that every story matters. In fact, it was the storytelling on this very blog that helped me land my career.

When I’m not at the office, you can usually find me:

• Chasing seven sassy chickens across the yard (often while still in my work clothes).
• Hunting, fishing, or gardening to keep our freezer full and our table blessed.
• Romanticizing the “Slow Morning,” I’m not a “hit the ground running” person, but I am an “ease into the Word with a hot cup of coffee” person.
• Staring at the Vermont woods from my covered porch, watching the deer and turkeys, and thanking God for this haven He’s given us.

I created this space for the woman who feels like she’s constantly balancing too many hats. The woman who wants to save money without losing her joy. The woman who is raising a teenager, navigating a career, and trying to keep Christ at the center of a very loud world.

As seen in USA Today and 55+ Life, I’m passionate about sharing practical ways to steward our resources, like grocery budgeting and intentional homemaking. But more than that, I want you to know that Jesus gets you. You don’t have to be “Mother Teresa” to have a seat at His table. You can be a work-in-progress. You can be messy. You can be growing in grace, one day at a time.
